Tobias Holtkamp has been appointed _wige GROUP Senior Vice President Digital Media. In the newly-created role, Holtkamp will expand and drive the group’s digital transformation and develop creative concepts optimising the positioning of customer and partner brands. The 37-year-old, currently chief editor of Germany’s biggest football community Transfermarkt.de, takes up his new position on 1 February 2016.
Holtkamp, responsible for a wide range of projects for Axel Springer SE since the year 2000, boasts extensive experience in both mainstream journalism and new media. After a period as chief reporter for Bild, he was appointed to establish and head up the digital sports newsroom in 2008. He was named Sport Bild deputy chief editor in 2011, and was simultaneously a member of the Bild Bundesliga rights project group. As of January 2014 he has been responsible for the content orientation of Transfermarkt, part-owned by Axel Springer, as chief editor.
